SIHM Sawai madhopur is the first and only government Institute of Hotel Management in the entire Kota division of the state. A Newly constructed building in 5 acres of land situated in the ‘City of Bells’ a spiritual city of Jhalrapatan, Sawai madhopur having a sprawling campus with separate boys and girls hostel, indoor and outdoor sports facilities with mental and physical development of the students.
This Institute is setup by department of Tourism, Govt. of Rajasthan, and affiliated with National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Noida (UP) an apex body under Ministry of Tourism Govt. of India. The Institute started its first academic session in 2023. The Institute provides adequate training facilities and other inputs to the students to help them to gain professional expertise.
Institute offers 3 years B.Sc. in Hospitality & Hotel Administration, One & Half year Diploma in Food Production, Bakery & Confectionery, Food & Beverage Service, Front Office operation and Housekeeping Operations.
Apart with the regular courses, Institute conducts short courses for house makers and teenagers etc for imbibing the cooking and service skills. Also, Institute runs the various courses under the Hunar Se Rojgar Scheme (CBSP) sponsored by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and trains the targeted people to get employment and entrepreneurship.
Institute fulfill the need of trained human resources to all the hospitality and tourism industry by providing the mentorship and guidance in setting up the new establishments and works as a catalyst for the industry.
The institute is offering five different demanding drive courses in the core hospitality courses. All courses have been affiliated with National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) Noida, Uttar Pradesh, under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Institute follows the rules of admission, examination and award of diploma etc. from NCHMCT.

About NCHMCT
National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (Society) was set up in the year 1982 by Govt. of India as an autonomous body for coordinated growth and development of hospitality management education in the country.
Initially, the Council was set up in the name of National Board of Studies in Food Management, Catering & Nutrition under the administrative control of Ministry of Agriculture (Deptt. Of Food) and subsequently it was transferred to Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India in the year 1984 with renaming as National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology. The office of the Council is situated at A-34, Sector-62, Noida (U.P.) in its own campus whereas registered office is at Pusa, New Delhi.
The Council regulates academics in the field of Hospitality Education & training that is imparted at the Institutes of Hotel Management and Food Craft Institutes. During Academic Year 2022-23 number of Institutes are 93, as under:
21 (twenty one) Central Govt. sponsored Institutes of Hotel Management, 28 (twenty eight) State Govt. sponsored Institutes of Hotel Management, 1 (one) PSU owned Institute, 31 (thirty one) private Institutes and 12 (twelve) Food Craft Institutes that function in different parts of the country. Through the Council, these institutes offer 11 (eleven) different professional programs leading to award of Certificate, Diploma, Post Graduate Diploma, Bachelor and Master Degree.
